Areas of Practice

Matthew Nierman has experience in a wide variety of immigration matters including employment based, family based as well as asylum and refugee based petitions. He practices primarily in the area of employment based immigration including PERM, Outstanding Achievement/Researcher cases, and H-1B petitions. He prides himself on delivering the highest quality work product for his clients.

Experience

Before joining The Law Firm of Shihab & Associates, Mr. Nierman gained invaluable experience clerking for private immigration firms in the Columbus, Ohio area. Mr. Nierman also worked as an extern for the Office of the Ohio Attorney General.

Education

Mr. Nierman obtained his J.D. from Capital University law school in 2009. There he participated on the Jessup international Moot Court Team and served a Public Relations Director for the International Law Society. Mr. Nierman was granted a B.A. from the the Ohio State University in 2006 where he completed majors in both History and German

Memberships: Mr.Nierman was admitted to the Supreme Court of Ohio Bar on November 9, 2009 and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio on January 14, 2010. He is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA), the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Columbus Bar Association (CBA).
