Matthew R. Porter joined Shihab & Associates as an Associate in 2008.

Mr. Porter handles a variety of immigration matters, including employment and family-based cases, nonimmigrant visa cases, adjustment of status and naturalization cases, as well as, representation in proceedings before the Immigration Court and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Education: Mr. Porter received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics Management at Ohio Wesleyan University. He obtained his Juris Doctorate Degree from Capital University Law School, Columbus, Ohio in May 2008 where he was a member of the National Tax Moot Court Team and received the CALI Award for Excellence in Tax and Professional Responsibility. He was also a Volunteer Income Tax Assistant.

Memberships: Mr. Porter was admitted to the Supreme Court of Ohio Bar on November 17, 2008 and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio on February 5, 2009. He is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
