August 2015 Visa Bulletin Analysis for Family-Sponsored (F) Immigrant Visas

Below is our monthly analysis of the State Department’s Visa Bulletin regarding family-sponsored immigration. These categories have priority date cutoffs, except for the following, which are in the “Immediate Relative” category:

March 2015 Visa Bulletin Analysis for Family-Sponsored (F) Immigrant Visas

More dates freeze this month, including most Mexican ones. There was even more retrogression. It is unclear if improvement is forthcoming.

(F1): Unmarried Sons and Daughters (21 and up) of U.S. citizens

The Mexican and Filipino dates fail to move this month, effectively both being at a three-month standstill. However, the rest of the world’s date may have already bottomed out with its continued one-month advancements.

(F2-A): Spouses and Children (Under 21) of Permanent Residents

As the rare bright spot of this half of the bulletin, both its dates continue to advance at over one-month-per-month.

(F2-B): Unmarried Sons and Daughters (21 and up) of Permanent Residents

This situation with this category appears consistent with the theme of this update. Dates for the rest of the world continue to advance (often strongly), but nations with their own dates (or are “overcharged”) fall into the past. (As a reminder, moving at less than one-month-per-month is what we define as falling into the past.)

(F3): Married Sons and Daughters (21 and Up) of U.S. Citizens

This category continues to struggle, as the Mexican and Filipino dates fail to move again. The rest of the world's date slightly disappoints with another three week advancement.

(F4): Brothers and Sisters of Adult U.S. Citizens

The Mexican date is frozen for the second month in a row here as well. The Filipino date finally makes it to 1992, but only with a three week advancement. However, the rest of the world’s date is somewhat making up for last month’s retrogression.
