May 2015 Visa Bulletin Analysis for Family-Sponsored (F) Immigrant Visas

Below is our monthly analysis of the State Department’s Visa Bulletin regarding family-sponsored immigration. These visas have priority date cutoffs, except for the following, which are in the “Immediate Relative” category:

March 2015 Visa Bulletin Analysis for Family-Sponsored (F) Immigrant Visas

This month was slightly better than last month. However, most dates continue to advance at less than one-month-per-month. They fall further away from the present in each bulletin, yet this could be the start of slow improvement.

(F1): Unmarried Sons and Daughters (21 and up) of U.S. Citizens

It was expected that this category would not move much in the coming months, but the current situation is not what was imagined. Movement here is essentially halted. This is the second month in a row that the Filipino date hasn’t moved, and no other area’s date moved by more than two weeks.

After a temporary slowdown, this category is back to a one-month-per-month pace.

Mexico’s date had a badly needed two-month advancement. The Philippines’ slightly improved, but the rest of the world’s date slowed.

(F3): Married Sons and Daughters (21 and Up) of U.S. Citizens

While many family sponsored-dates advance decently this month, this category as a whole continues to struggle. One to two week movements are across the board.

(F4): Brothers and Sisters of Adult U.S. Citizens

Mexico’s date is in a jump and stall cycle, averaging three-weeks-per-month. The Filipino date in this category is the worst in the entire bulletin, so hopefully it’s done falling further from the present. In contrast, the rest of the world’s date advances well this month.
